Market figures by town

In September, Temple saw a shift in its supply dynamics as new listings outpaced closings for the second consecutive month. The city added 34 new homes to the market while 26 properties closed, creating a net increase in available inventory. This activity level of 34 new listings against 26 closed sales marks a distinct change from September 2025, when only 16 new listings were recorded alongside 33 closings. ALEX Intelligence analyzed the dual-axis supply and demand trend to highlight this shift. The ratio of new supply to demand has improved for buyers, as the number of new homes entering the market now exceeds the volume of transactions completing. This contrasts with the prior month, where 32 new listings met 24 closings, indicating a steady accumulation of stock over the last two months. The median price for these September closings rose to $255,000, up 5.6% from August, while the average home size grew to 1,814 square feet. Despite the increased supply, the market remains tight compared to the same time last year, when new listings were half the current volume. The data suggests that while inventory is building, the pace of sales has not kept up with the influx of new properties, offering buyers more selection than in recent months.
