This figure represents a 5% decrease compared to the prior six-month period and is 2.3% larger than the same window a year ago. The data comes from 39 closed sales tracked by ALEX Intelligence. ALEX Intelligence analyzed the rolling trend of living area, beds, and baths to identify this shift in home size trends. While the median price remained stable at $320,000, the average footprint of sold homes has contracted slightly. In the prior six months, the median living area was 2,274 square feet, whereas a year ago it stood at 2,113 square feet. This fluctuation suggests that buyers in Harker Heights are currently purchasing homes with slightly less square footage than they did earlier this year, though the current size is still larger than the median from late 2025. The market continues to see a mix of new construction and resale activity, with 7 new construction homes closing in the current window compared to 12 in the prior period. The data indicates that while home sizes are adjusting, the price per square foot has remained relatively steady at $153, showing no significant change from the prior period or last year.
