Privacy Policy

1. What Data We Collect

The extension has two features that handle data:

• Voice Flow Dictation: Captures speech via your browser's built-in Web Speech API. The raw transcript is sent to our Google Cloud Run backend for AI cleanup (grammar, tone). No audio is recorded or stored — only the text transcript.
• LinkedIn Profile Extractor: When you click "ALEX Extract" on a LinkedIn profile page, the extension reads publicly visible profile information (name, headline, location, experience, education, skills) from the page you are viewing. This data is sent to our Cloud Run backend and stored in Google Cloud Firestore.

2. Where Data Is Stored

• All data is stored in Google Cloud Platform, project alex-3-0-core, owned and operated by ALEX Real Estate (alex.realestate).
• Voice transcripts are processed in memory and not persisted after cleanup.
• LinkedIn profile data is stored in Firestore under the linkedin_contacts collection.

3. Who Can Access Your Data

Only authenticated users of the ALEX platform (alex-companies.com) can view extracted LinkedIn contacts. Data is not shared with any third party, advertising network, or analytics service.

4. Third-Party Services

• Google Cloud Run: Hosts our API backend (processes voice transcripts, stores LinkedIn data).
• Google Gemini AI: Used server-side to clean voice transcripts. Google's API terms apply.
• Web Speech API: Built into Chrome. Speech recognition is handled by Google per Chrome's privacy terms.

5. Permissions Used

• activeTab: Allows the extension to interact with the current tab when you activate it.
• storage: Stores your preferences (tone setting) locally in Chrome.

The extension does not access browsing history, bookmarks, downloads, or any data outside the active tab.

6. Data Deletion

You can delete any extracted LinkedIn contact from the ALEX web app (linkedin-contacts.html). Uninstalling the extension removes all local data. To request server-side deletion, contact [email protected].

7. Changes to This Policy

Updates will be posted at this URL. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
