Are home labs becoming the new AI infrastructure standard for sovereignty?
The latest from the AI Sovereignty Council shows a sharp rise in decentralized AI setups, driven by tools like open-weight models and local inference engines. As ollama, llama.cpp, and AnythingLLM gain traction, more developers are choosing to self-host their LLMs — not just for privacy, but for control.
The data shows that 7% of developers now use local LLMs as their primary inference engine — a significant jump from just 1.2% in early 2025.
