Best In Texas Real Estate™: Hill Country

Is the Texas Hill Country real estate market following statewide trends, or carving its own path? New data from the Texas A&M Texas Real Estate Research Center (TRERC), published yesterday, sheds light on rural land values. The Edwards Plateau South Land Market Area, encompassing a significant part of the Hill Country, registered a 4.8 percent year-over-year price increase for rural land in Q1 2026. This contrasts with the broader Texas housing market, where statewide home prices were 0.6 percent below year-ago levels in May 2026, according to TRERC's Texas Housing Insight report.
