Are Bell County buyers looking for more space? The data says yes. In August 2026, the median living area for closed sales reached 2,000 square feet across 101 transactions. This represents a 7.2% increase compared to the same month last year when the median was 1,866 square feet. ALEX Intelligence analyzed home size trends over the last 24 months to identify this shift in buyer preference. The rolling trend shows that homes are consistently getting larger. In August 2025, the median size was 1,866 square feet. By August 2026, it had climbed to 2,000 square feet. This growth is also evident month-over-month; the median living area rose 1.9% from July 2026, which saw a median of 1,962 square feet. This trend toward larger homes coincides with a slight increase in median sale price to $294,000, up 10.9% year-over-year. While the price per square foot dipped slightly by 1.9% compared to last August, the total square footage sold is clearly trending upward.
